So Yamaha has managed to subside our excitement for the time being, giving us a snack-sized piece to hold us over until the all-new Yamaha R1 is unveiled. I guess we're okay with that. Honda and Kawasaki have both recently upped the ante on their beginner sport bikes by replacing their 250cc bikes with 300cc packages. Said to have a longer swing arm for more stability and better acting suspension, the R3 may well be a game changer in the small sport bike category. It has all the sexy styling of the R-series bikes, but with a fraction of the cost and only some of the power. The seat height measures 30.7 inches so it'll fit most smaller riders.

Along with the introduction of the new bike Yamaha is now opening it's Blu Cru racing program up to road racing (formerly it was only reserved for dirt racing).
